Tikka Masala (Quick, easy)
Description
Tikka masala is a popular dish consisting of roasted marinated chicken chunks
(the tikka) smothered in a rich, creamy, and spiced tomato-based sauce (masala).
It is known for its vibrant orange color, mild-to-medium heat, and complex, aromatic flavors,
often featuring notes of ginger, garlic, and garam masala.
Ingredients (5-6 servings)
- 2 cups dry basmati rice
- 1 lb chicken breast or thighs (boneless)
- 1 jar premade Tikka Masala simmer sauce
- 1 cup greek yogurt
- 1-2 cloves garlic
- Salt, pepper, garam masala, turmeric (I lowkey forgot what I put in there xD)
Steps (15-20 minutes cook-time)
- Dice chicken and place into a bowl. Mix in greek yogurt, salt, pepper, garam masala, and turmeric. Let marinade for 1 hour.
- Wash and cook rice.
- In a large pan or pot, cook marinated chicken on medium until colored.
- Once chicken reaches internal temp of 145-150 degrees Fahrenheit, reduce heat to low and add Tikka Masala simmer sauce.
- Let simmer for 30 minutes or until sauce reaches desired consistency.
- After desired consistency is reached, serve hot with cooked basmati rice.
